Kimera Fashion Series - Part 6 (2011)
"Aaaand, there!" Iris said with proud accomplishment. Cobalt also thought she heard a bit of relief. "That's the last line secured. Okay, straighten her kimono out. I'll tidy up the hair."
Yukino and Sakaki carefully spread the yards of red silk across the white infinity paper that covered the section of wall and floor in front of Iris' camera.
In the center knelt Cobalt, struggling to hold her subservient pose. The kimono had been designed with a wide double neckline that fell far from her shoulders, making her bare upper torso blossom out of the fabric. Geisha-style makeup had been applied to her face, and her yards and yards of hair had been elaborately gathered, braided, tied, looped, and fastened in the most complicated updo Cobalt had ever seen. Golden combs and picks stuck out here and there, wide sashes and braids helped to secure the larger rolled sections, and entire bouquets of flowers were plunged into the spaces in between the buns.
The entire mass would have practically snapped Cobalt's delicate neck if not for the long gold bar that ran through the center of the enormous rear hair bun. Thin wires tied to the bar at regular intervals along its length secured it to the lighting grid above. The remainder of Cobalt's hair had been wrapped around the bar to help cover the knots and fell in a wide curtain to properly frame the beautiful geisha goat.
Iris busied herself straightening the hairs in the curtain, making sure the entire length was smooth like the silk that pooled across the floor. "Those wires ought to hold this up long enough to take the picture. Just keep your head exactly where it is.
"I-I'm try-y-y-ying," Cobalt bleated. Her collar had been removed only minutes before, and she was glad Iris had forced her to wear it while they were doing her hair. If she had gone without the collar during setup, she feared her mind might have started wandering too much, forgetting the importance of keeping her pose perfectly still. Even now, she was finding it increasingly difficult to keep herself supported. Her arms quivered slightly.
"She looks good from here," Sakaki said.
"Okay!" Iris finished fussing with the hair, stepped behind the camera, and lined up her shot. "Ready, CK? Try to look as elegant as possible."

Cobalt and Iris finished throwing the last of the hair in the dumpster behind the studio. Cobalt was clad in her normal shirt and shorts, remained female. She had put her collar back on and her hair was now only shoulder-length. It was rather ragged due to the sloppy way in which it had been cut off... Rather than painstakingly unraveling the dozens of buns and braids, Yuriko and Iris had lopped the entire 'do off of Cobalt's head while it was still tied to the lighting grid.
"Whew! That ought to be the last of the super long hair deals. We'll try to keep it to ten feet or less tomorrow." Iris walked CK back into the studio and she began to put away her camera equipment. "How are you holding up? I know it was a demanding day for you."
"The thrill of being in those beautiful clothes makes it easy to put up with the hard parts. But I might need a warm bath to relax my muscles after that last picture."
Iris chuckled. "That doesn’t sound like a bad idea at all. If only I had a jacuzzi."
Cobalt dismantled the C-stands and helped Iris roll up the infinity wall. "Tomorrow's the last day?"
"Yeah, and it ought to be a bit easier. The dresses aren't as lavish as what you've been trying on."
Cobalt's half-cat, half-goat ears drooped.
"Oh don't worry," Iris said. "You'll still like what Yukino and Sakaki have come up with."
"I'm sure I will!" Cobalt said. "Anything by those two is pure gold."
"The final picture, I've just come up with today... I hope you'll be willing to indulge me. It's going to be a bit different from the rest of the pics."
Iris explained her idea to Cobalt and she listened with rapt attention.
"Are you willing to do that?"
"Iris, it's the least I can do after all of the fun you've allowed me to have so far. I think it'll be a great way to cap off the sequence."
Iris beamed and blushed. "Thank you, CK." She looked over at a clock on the wall. "We'd better go home. Another long day tomorrow. Are you going to change back?"
Cobalt looked over to the changing area. "I'll do it at home so you can lock up."
The two bid goodnight as they walked to their cars. On her drive home Cobalt whistled happily to herself. She felt like she was in the middle of a vacation.

Cobalt stood in her bathroom looking at the reflection of her female self. She stared into her own eyes in concentration. "Come on, come on..." She stared so hard it felt like her eyeballs were about to pop out of their sockets.
Finally, she felt a change. Her scalp tingled. But only her scalp. Two feet of shining white hair spilled out like water from a faucet. "Damn it, come on!"
She tried again with her eyes shut. "I'm a guy. I'm. A. Guy." Regardless of her repeated proclamation, images of her female form in elaborate robes and long, flowing hair lingered in her mind. She felt her hair lengthen again. "I. AM. MALE. A filthy, stinky, ugly MALE." She used unflattering words in the hopes of countering her libido.
Her body finally shifted in its entirety. She dared not open her eyes until the change completed. When she finally did open them, Cobalt saw his original male self, with the usual knee-length hair, two-toned fur, and fifteen-foot braided goatee, staring back at him with a weary expression. He leaned on the sink, letting himself relax.
"Okay... See? That wasn't so hard..."
He looked back up at his reflection.
"Why was that so hard?"
